This is a letter I sent to someone with whom I'd had this discussion before
<
<You'd made the point, several times, that Corzine was very unpopular. My point was that because neither Obama nor Bush was running, there'd be a lack of enthusiasm from the Democrats.
<Turns out we were both right. Obama's appearances in N.J. were not enough to bring the Democrats to the polls...
<A tough loss, but not unexpected.
<Virginia was the victim of a lackluster campaign by a minor league pol, against a smooth, polished campaign by an experienced pol. Democrats had conceded that race long ago.
<The interesting race was that traditionally Republican district in N.Y. You saw the right's trend toward splitting into two parties, get its comeuppance. All the kings horses, and all the king's men...and women, couldn't put Humpty Dumpty Hoffman together.
<The far right got its ass handed to it...It could'nt even win in a district where, in the past, it couldn't lose.

The 23rd in NY may have been a traditional Republican seat but she was not a conservative, you can tell that her people were not happy because she could not raise the money to run. She was a Lib running under the Repub banner. Let's see the guy who nearly won was an unknown 30 days ago and he got how close? His close loss was a victory for us Conservatives, because with a little more time Conservatism will reign supreme!!

You are right MMM. An unknown missed by very little. De De was for partial birth abortions. What kind of person is still for that kind of baby killing?? A person with a heart of stone.... thats De De..
Its fine to lose to a democrat under these circumstances
CONGRATS TO A VIRTUAL UNKNOWN, DOUG HOFFMAN for almost getting the victory. Maybe if DE De hadn't asked her voters to vote for the dem, just maybe we would have pulled it off.
And no, its not a loss for Palin. Palin always draws the crowds. She is a true conservative. And wears lipstick well.. LOL
