Marilyn has health insurance Shoppe, so you'll be by yourself.

Dear Rider,  You haven't been paying attention.  Marilyn and you may have it now, but eventually (soon) you will not have it.  The companies will pay the penalty instead and  LET GOVCO control our healthcare, it will be cheaper for the companies.  :)  I am right you know.

I believe the house will past  ObamaCare tonight... I think since the  abortion part was changed that the  blue dog dems (who are always dem) will vote for it.

Especially after the secret meeting with Obama.  Obama probably told them not to worry about their re-election, he would "help" and that  if they didn't get re-elected, he would make them a Czar or something real special....

Arm twisting is what politics is all about.

I read today there are between  250 -350 MILLIONARES in CONGRESS that will not have to follow ObamaCare.

I long for the good ole days.

H.R. 3962 provides that an individual (or a husband and wife in the case of a joint return) who does not, at any time during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax.” [page 1]

- - - - - - - - - -

“If the government determines that the taxpayer’s unpaid tax liability results from willful behavior, the following penalties could apply…

(generally 2.5% of income)

rosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:

• Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.”

Again this is an issue that I am more scared about the precedent it sets as opposed to the actual law. How are we suppose to save money by imprisoning them?

I was looking at our checking account online a couple days ago and see that our health insurance has gone up to $1350 a month now. Ouch! For alot of people in North Dakota, that's their take-home pay.
Posted On: Nov 7 2009 6:38PM

Marilyn,  thank God you can pay that much.  Yes,  many people have that much as their take home pay each month.. total....

Hope you can keep it under Queen Pelosis bill.   Do you think you can?

Yes, reading it in black and white was a shocker, thanks sicko.

I'm thinking that most people here don't have a clue what the majority of the 'stuff' is in that bill..Am I right? We know some basics and that's it. There's just too much to know and nobody's talking about it. I hope our premium doesn't go up even more. Sigh......
Posted On: Nov 7 2009 7:54PM

Well the CBO is saying that it will cost on average (with an average plan) 15000 dollars a year. The average as of Sept of 2009 is 13375.

We're up to $16,200 a year  now, with a $5,000 deductible. Would have been a higher premium if we'd chosen a lower deductible. There's alot to be said for staying healthy and OUT of the doctors office!

However you may have a really nice plan and taxes in Minnesota can border insane.

We have the basic BC/BS plan and yes, taxes here are high. Property taxes are ridiculous. I guess someone thinks it's a privilege for us to grace Minnesota soil. We've got neighbors who pay in excess of $1,000 a month in property taxes. Geez...
