| Illegal Immigrant kills 4 in Minnesota |

On Tuesday February 19, 2008 an illegal immigrant who was driving a van without a license hit a Cottonwood, Minnesota school bus killing 4 students and injuring 14 others, 2 critically. The kids were brothers Jesse (13) and Hunter(9) Javens, Reed Stevens (12) and Emilee Olson(9). The van driver Alianiss Morales who is an illegal immigrant was cited in 2006 with driving without a license. She has been arrested for Criminal Vehicular Operation. Need I say more |

this is a sad story Opinionated. You need not say more, may I add that it is the LIBERALS that want more illegals in our country, and now we have 3 LIBERALS running for president.
No one really cares that our country isn't safe anymore.

I wonder how many Americans kill people with their cars in Minnesota. I don't hear about it in the news. If I go to the Minnesota Safety Council website, though, I see that 38 of the 494 people who died in motor vehicle collisions in 2006 were pedestrians. I wonder why it doesn't make the news? I suppose it's just a matter of the public getting bored with hearing about it. Ho-hum, another traffic fatality. Wait! What's this? A non-American got in a crash? Forget the other 500 fatal traffic accidents, this one is NEWS!

shelia and ranchgirl, you do have to admt it is uncanny how you both usually follow each others post... but off subject,
shelia, I wish more attention would be paid to all deaths, but I don't own or run a news facility, so I just use the posts for info.
It is bad enough that americans kill americans on the road, but when ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINALS come in and take our innocent, it should cause us to rebel against that. see we can put our own murders in prison, but what happens to to an illegal? does he go to prison, get death penalty, or get deported... choose one...

There are stories in the papers every single day of vehicle accidents involving American drivers-licensed and unlicensed. This is in the news as a big story because it was a school bus and because children died. The fact that it was an illegal that caused the accident does not make it any worse for the parents of these kids or anyone else involved. It could have just as easily been an American driving the car. Stop trying to focus on the insignificant facts and keep it where it belongs-as a tragedy involving children.

shoepp, I have to agree with Missing the Point. The point of the whole thing is that four children were killed in a collision with a school bus. I know, it's a lot less dramatic than "Illegal immigrant criminal murders four children by ramming school bus", but it doesn't really matter who hit the bus. What matters is that someone ran a stop sign and four children are dead as a result.

Yeah. If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts...
It didn't happen that way. She was here and she ran a stop sign. If she had been in her own country, somebody else might have run the stop sign and it would have been on page two. Who knows. Maybe it was "God's" plan. We don't know and we'll never know. The fact is, she WAS there and she DID run the stop sign, and the kids ARE dead. Saying "if she'd been in her own country" isn't bringing them back or doing anyone any good. Don't use dead children as martyrs to further your anti-immigration agenda. It's ghoulish.

we live in a real world with tragedy shelia. But God didn't kill the kids, the Illegal did.
I am not baptist, I do not believe in "wellll, if its gods willlll, the child will die, its his time" God wants Long life for us. We make decisions of going thru stop signs or something, angels don't stop us..

So it was against "God's" will? I thought god was supposed to be omnipotent and omniscient. If that is the case, then god knew and could prevent it. If god didn't prevent it, then either he wanted it to happen or he couldn't have stopped it. Which is it?

Missing the Point: You are ignorant.... I will tell you what the point is, the point is ,is that had she not been in this country, with NO FORMAL driving skiils and running the stop sign at that time ,those families would have there kids today.....The fact of the matter is, that she has used aliases in the past. the fact of the matter is she has NO BUSINESS being in this country. The fact of the matter is she has been tested for drugs and they may have played a part in the wreck. The fact of the matter is if this is to become a death penalty case and she is given bail by some judge than she can flee to wherever she came from and maybe even a safe haven. How do you say that it makes no difference that she was an illegal. Why don't you go tell it to the set of parents that lost both of their kids. Somewhere out there there will be some Civil Rights motivated attorney who will use the excuse that she is ignorant of American Law and a whole bunch of bleeding hearts will feel for her instead of the innocent victims. The only appropriate response to my post was GOD BLESS these CHILDREN and their FAMILIES! If you are not disturbed by the fact that someone took the lives of innocent children who belonged in this country then you are ANTI-AMERICAN. The fact that she is an illegal is the point.....IF SHE STAYED HOME THE KIDS WOULD BE ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
she IS the reason they are dead...IF she had been a citizen she would have taken driving lessons in order to get a license.... Wake Up and hope and pray to god that this never happens to you!!!!!

Sheila, you make me sick to my stomach. I hope and pray to god that you have zero influence on my kids.... Your defense of a person who has no business in my country disgusts me. I hope and pray that you never find yourself in this situation. I will tell you the same thing, my post today was for people to read and reflect on the young lives lost and reflect on the reason they will never ride a school bus again..... Because someone who did not belong in this country took their lives....... If she wasn't here they would be alive today. There wasn't a long line of cars at the stop sign waiting their turn to hit the bus. If you tried to anger you did. I love kids,they are my main reason for living...... I am disgusted by the fact that you take pity onthis criminal. SHAME ON YOU....... They say converse with a person for a while and they sing like a canary.... Well, I heard your song, and it sucks.

SHOPPE!!!! I do not care what people say, you are the one that gets it. Your heart and compassion show through time and time again and I am sure if we were to ever meet that wonderful soul would be reflected in your smile. I admire people who value children and put them front and center. I admire people who can distinguish right from wrong. I admire people who govern themselves from their heart not their mouth. I join you today in Prayer for these kids, because as a parent , prayer, god, and family are the only things could console you in a time like this. Hug your little ones extra tight.... I can't even imagine.

You make it sound like she did it on purpose, that she was waiting at the stop sign to hit a bus and kill children.
Did you know that Laura Bush killed someone in a crash? They never tested her for alcohol consumption. She ran a stop sign.
For the record, opinionated, you disgust me too. I hope that you have no influence over your children. If I prayed, I'd pray for it.
