This site topic was started to promote the great Wayne Stenehjem.

Dakota Dan,
First off, whats my point? I'll use small words and simple sentences in order for you to understand, since you seemed to have missed it last time. If you have a problem with the way elected officials run things, complaining about it over a news forum isn't the way to handle it. Go out and try to change it. Try and get people on your side. Bring it up to the Supreme Court if you have to. Try and find some one who will do a better job. If you think that person is you then step up. Hiding behind your computer screen is pointless.
Secondly, don't you even try to tell me whats "hard". You have no idea what I do. I promise it isn't some cushy job like you have trying to sell renewable energy. While you sit in your home and wonder what you're going to complain about next, I'm out of the United States defending your right to say what you want. I don't need to defend what Wayne does. He's a grown man and can take care of himself. But what you don't seem to get is that while you're at home rooting for the next big crash in NASCAR, people are trying to make this world a better place the best way they can. Instead of complaining, we're doing.

Dear A. Stenehjem,
Just catching up on your October 11th KXNet.com "Wayne Stenehjem" posting
I have to ask, what's your point? That the poor people who run for public office have it so rough and being a "political figure" is so hard they need our sympathy? Or should get a pass?
You want to know what's hard? Building a business, creating jobs, not getting taxed into oblivion, taking care of your family
I'm afraid you've got it backwards. It's the responsibility of everyone to hold "political figures" accountable. It has nothing
to do with the temperature of my ice-cream.
Wayne is in an elected office and Drew was a political appointment paid by the public to serve.
They are not above the law or being questioned. When "political figures" can't be questioned, we've got some serious problems.
Facts are facts they've got some answering to do.
How about we start with fabrication of evidence to get an Indictment i.e. the Bala case overturned by the U.S. Court of Appeals?
What in the world was Drew Wriggley doing stomping all over a North Dakota company because of a false claim started by Mike Cichy? A claim that RSI was "running a simulcast site that needed a second license"? Well, it turns out that RSI wasn't running a simulcast site, and it was already licensed by the State for Account Wagering.
And this was after Wayne Stenehjem took over RSI just months after the Account Wagering began because he said it owed millions in taxes. It turns out there was no tax for Account Wagering in the State law and there was no deadline to pay parimutuel taxes period. They didn't get around to correcting the legislation or putting rules until 2007. Quite a gap.
Stenehjem and Wriggley ran to the press, a Grand Jury, and a trial jury telling everybody a false story. They even said RSI hadn't paid Federal taxes when it had!
All fabrications against an honest business person who started a business from nothing, had paid over $26-million in taxes to North Dakota, built a State industry, and was rewarded by being sent to federal prison for not breaking any laws. She LOST everything... business, home, health, reputation ... everything! How much tax has wonderful Wayne paid? Or Drew?
After they'd been out there showboating for the cameras and run RSI into the ground they weren't about to lose face and back down.
Maybe Wayne wouldn't enjoy 70% of the vote of the fair minded people of North Dakota if the public knew his actions in this case maybe Drew wouldn't have that political future he wants so badly. Maybe that's why Wayne and Drew did what they did to railroad this case rather than admit they were wrong something those "political figures" really do have a hard time doing.
This injustice was wrong from the start. The North Dakota Racing Commission could and should have handled this from the beginning. Wayne and Drew abused the power of their offices. When the government attacks a business and innocent person like this, they need to MAN-UP.
"Grow a set"? I think that's been done that's what it takes to stand up to "political figures".

Dear Dakota Dan,
Why don't you stop insulting ND's politicans over the news website. If you really had a problem with what they do you would stop hiding behind your stupid Yoda avatar and show your face in public. I bet you're the type of person who complains that your ice cream is to cold. You try and find faults in everyone elses life and business but cant handle the truth about your own failed attemps and shattered dreams. If you think you're Gods gift to everything then grow a pair and run for office yourself. Then you'll see how hard it is to be a political figure. Wayne and Drew both have and are doing an outstanding job. If Wayne wins his elections by 70% then I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one voting for him. If he wasn't doing a good job then he wouldn't be elected every election. Think about it, just because you write a long post dosen't mean you're smart. Reply...
