BUTTE (AP) A funeral will be held Monday in Butte for Doctor
Donald Gillespie, a practicing pediatrician for 47 years.
Gillespie died of natural causes Thursday at his home. He was
98.
Montana had few pediatricians when he moved to Butte in 1937,
with intentions of staying for a couple of years. He ended up
living there for 60.
Gillespie was born in Minnesota and received medical training at
the Mayo Clinic. He retired in 1987.
Survivors include his son, Doctor Donald Gillespie of Missoula,
and daughter Charlotte Simonich (SIH'-muh-nitch) of Butte.
