And finally, from the moment the flood water receded in the valley people have spent countless backbreaking hours gutting their home and battling through an array of emotions.

At the height of the demolition and cleaning I took a break from gutting my own home and with the help of Photojournalist Gaylen Ness, visited people throughout the valley armed with spray paint and an idea.

Tonight a tribute to those who've been at the heart of the disaster - the thousands of flood victims fighting to survive.
