An engineering firm that has played a big role in the expansion of the Red River Valley has opened in Minot.  Moore Engineering opened its first Minot office last month...and is currently preparing to move into its permanent location in Northwest Minot...in doing this...the company will grow...

(Brock Storrunsten, PE - Moore Engineering) "We will start off with about nine people and grow into our new office facility into 25 to 40 people."

Brock says Moore has served as the city of West Fargo's city engineers for decades...and that the company is looking forward to playing a role in the growth of this region as well...not just Minot -- but elsewhere around the area.

(Brock Storrunsten, PE - Moore Engineering) "We are going to do municipal engineering...that is what we want to do.  We feel we can bring our expertise into the small communities around Minot.  We can help them secure funding and provide projects for their needs.  That is really what we do.  If they have a water main issue or something like that we can try and go after MR9 money and funding and help get grants to help those communities afford the improvements and their needs."

The move from downtown Minot to their new location is expected in March.

A business that has been around for about seven years recently changed hands when John Blada acquired JB Express Inc. from his brother.  JB is a delivery business that operates mainly west and north of the Magic City...transporting basically anything.  Blada says more and more, that means items key for the energy development of the state...

(John Blada - JB Express Inc) "It is related oil business.  We don't go to the sites, we go to the towns.  We go to Williston and work our way back.  We go to New Town and then on the way back you have Parshall...north to Glenburn, Mohall, Westhope.  All related towns that are up there."

Blada points out that they are here to serve anyone...not just energy companies.  The work five days a week...but the staff of four is always open for those special weekend runs if needed.
