The hotel boom will really kick into high gear in the Magic City in 2012 -- starting soon with the opening of the LaQuinta.  Officials with the Fargo company that is operating the facility say that it will open for business in about a month after final touches are finished -- and once that is done, another facility will start to rise near the YMCA...the Baymont.  75 rooms in three stories with an indoor pool...your typical hotel.  It is slated for a fall 2012 opening.  Minot's Baymont will be the only hotel that chain has in North Dakota.

And on highway 83 -- you've no doubt seen the massive tent structure that has been built just to the west of the old KXMC location.  That too is another hotel that is under construction.  You see an artist's rendition of what to expect, but no name.  We are told it will be the Astoria Hotel and it too will welcome guests later in 2012.
