Mandan House Fire

Posted:

A family's home in Mandan is a total loss.

Mike Peterson, his wife and two kids were in the living room when a neighbor, who happens to be Mike's father came to the house saying there were flames.

Mike and his family escaped the burning home okay.

Mandan fire crews got the call at about 7:45 this evening.

The home at 801 Custer Drive in Mandan was nearly engulfed, including a detached garage with a truck and car inside.

Both vehicles are total losses too.

Peterson says he has no idea what caused the fire, but it appears to have started upstairs in the southeast corner of the home.

Again the home and two vehicles are total losses, but the family is okay.

By the way, Mike says it's his birthday tomorrow.
