Flood waters chased GEM Federal Credit Union from this location on Central Avenue...but something beautiful has taken its place...really -- Flower Central is the new occupant here, the newest floral store in Minot owned by Niki Brose.

(Niki Brose, Owner - Flower Central) "It was an idea my husband I had been throwing around for a while and this building was available for rent and we thought it would work very well."

Their first day in operation was Friday...and already business is picking up.  Nicki is also a designer and along with two other designers, they are ready to bring color and freshness to any occasion.

(Niki Brose, Owner - Flower Central) "A full service florist.  Flowers, plants, candy, balloons, plush animals, gift items, a little of everything."

Flower Central offers delivery as well to Minot and the surrounding area.  They are open Monday thru Friday 8 to 5 and Saturday from 9 to 2.

In Williston, one of the next hotels ready to come on line is this -- the Best Western Plus Inn and Suites is set to open this spring.  99 rooms with 46 extended stay along with 1500 square feet of meeting space...but plans are already in the works for an expansion.  The Montana investors are planning for another 50 room addition -- and an additional 5000 square feet of meeting space.

Finally -- a quick correction, with thanks to the Mountrail County Promoter, this massive hotel was mis-identified last week.  It will soon become a MicroTel Inn and Suites with 77 rooms.  Work continues on it now...

With Business Beat, I'm Perry Olson.
