KX Weekend Team Celebrates "National Superhero Day"

Posted: Updated:

April 28th is "National Superhero Day".

PowerCapes.com has sent the weekend news team our very own superhero capes to wear on air.

Here's Jared demonstrating the power of the superhero cape from the weather wall and outside.

National Superhero Day was started in '95 by a group of employees at Marvel Comics.

Powercapes.com offers handmade superhero capes for kids and adults that can be customized with symbols, initials and more.

Jared has a lightning bolt on his, Amber's has a star and Zach's looks like Zorro and Superman symbols combined.

News anchors from more than 3 dozen stations across the country are wearing custom PowerCapes.

The "supergoal" is to encourage people nationwide to be heroes in their home community.
