If you're looking for a great way to spend Memorial Day weekend we've got just the spot for you.
"We extended the bar to about 22 people," Owner Sandra Kunz said.
The Pier is just days away from opening it's doors in Bismarck, after remodeling almost the entire building due to the flooding last summer, crews will be busy over the weekend, cleaning up and getting everything ready for the grand opening.
"We got back the original cook, the original chef that was working here when the first owner had it, great guy can handle anything, so we're very excited we've got a super bar manager, we're just ready to go, Owner Judy Moritz said."
And Judy Moritz has some extra help now, Sandra Kunz will be helping her own the revamped restaurant, Kunz says the partnership just fell into play, but she's proud to be part of a hotspot that so many customers have enjoyed in years past.
"We've been asked so many times, when the Pier is going to be open and I'm glad to say it's coming soon, very soon, Kunz said."
But infarct just one year ago the Pier was set to open it's doors after remodeling their entire restaurant and bar, but then the water came, which forced them to remodel once again.
" We had a foot of water in this whole place, fishes swimming in here the whole mess, Moritz said. "
But that mess has been replaced with new attractions for guests.
"We have a fireplace that we put in, we put in a bigger window," Kunz said.
To make customers feel welcome whether they're enjoying a burger, a cold beverage, or a ride on the water.
The Pier is set to open on Tuesday May 22nd, the restaurant and bar area will be on the south side of the building, the north side will be rented out to a future business.
