Student Spotlight: White Shield

Posted: Updated:

He was named the North Dakota youth of the year by the Boys and Girls Club.
And he's already a volunteer firefighter.
Let's meet one of the top graduates from White Shield - David Mares - in our Student Spotlight.

(David Mares, White Shield Graduate) "I could look up to all the teachers - when I was there they helped me.  If I had troubles they were always willing to help - I never was turned down by any of them.  I would like to mention Demonn, he's the math teacher, Mrs. Marquardt, Jackie Hansel - all of them have been really inspiring to me.  I work for Boys and Girls Club of Three Affiliated Tribes and most of the kids really look up to me because I've been through a lot of stuff during my years.  I plan to join the National Guard and try to see the world.  I also want to go to college and get a criminal justice degree because I want to become a police officer."

Congratulations to David and these graduates from White Shield - eight in all.
They got their diplomas on May 18th.
