Yesterday we took at look back at the year that was in Class A sports.
Now here's a glance back at the champions from Class B.
The fall began with the Rugby boys cross country team running away from the pack. The Hillsboro girls had three runners in the top 20, to win the girls team title. 9 man football saw Napoleon and North Star in an epic offensive battle, the Imperials won their 3rd championship, in a game that saw 19 Dakota Bowl records broken. In Class 1 A, Stanley Powers Lake, ran all over Linton HMB in the state championship, the Blue Jays racked up more than 23 hundred yards. In Class 2 A football, Grafton was a machine that couldn't be stopped, the undefeated Spoilers, wouldn't let Shanley rain on their parade, Grafton won 22-8.
This winter, it was split at state wrestling, Oakes won the team title, while South Border captured their second straight duel championship.
At the girls basketball state tournament, Grafton won their first Class B title, they left no doubt they were the best, they finished their season on a 22 game winning streak, which they capped off with a 22 point win over Linton HMB.
At the B, Beulah won their first state boys championship in history. They beat three undefeated teams at the tournament and managed to snap North Star's 53 game winning streak, to take the title.
This spring, Beulah backed up their basketball title, with a win at the state baseball tournament. They came from behind to beat Grafton 5-3.
Kindred took at double dip at the state golf tournament. The Vikings dominated both boys and girls golf, they both won by more than 30 strokes.
On the track, Lisbon beat Rugby at 13 points to take the boys State Track title, and the Carrington girls were crowned champs after a big day 2 in Bismarck, it was the Cardinals first title since 2004.
