Kum and Go on East Burdick Expressway has closed its doors...but not for good.  While it will be shut down for the next few months, soon work will begin on a new Kum and Go store at this same location near the North Dakota State Fairgrounds.

In south Minot, a renovation is complete at the Paint and Floor store on South Broadway.  Steve Nush says the updates will help keep up with increasing inventory...and increasing business as well.  The past year has been busy with many flood remodels...and new construction as well.  The changes allowed the Paint and Floor Store to add this -- a design station where flooring can be laid out showing potential projects and what they would look like.

Also in Minot, a new home for American Gas and Welding.  The employee owned company has more than 30 locations across the upper midwest, including a new store in Williston that just opened last week.  They had been located in Minot on East Burdick...but this week will move into this location on Valley Street.  Paul Chilcoat says the new home will make business easier to conduct...

(Paul Chilcoat - American Welding and Gas) "It is great, a great location and a nice building.  We are happy with how it is setting up.  We have big bulk tanks and propane as well..."

And that business stretches into the Bakken...and out too...

(Paul Chilcoat - American Welding and Gas) "We do a lot of oil type business but also lots of local business with bars and restaurants with their gases and the hospitals, welding supplies for the area, tools and things like that.
