An April homicide case in Mandan is now closed.
According to Mandan Police, Gloria Schmidt-Lozensky was stabbed to death and discovered dead in the entryway of her home on April 20th.
Police say Robert Mitchell is who is responsible for her death.
Mitchell cannot be charged in the case because he was found dead two days later in a family members home, but police have all the evidence to link Mitchell to the murder.
"We located blood evidence confirmed through DNA that belonged to Gloria Lozensky on the driveway, the doorstep and on the door of Robert Mitchell's residence," Paul Leingang, Mandan Police Department Deputy Chief said.
Shoe prints found at the crime scene were also used as evidence and are similar to the ones Mitchell wore.
He also took his vehicle to Jamestown to get it detailed the day following the homicide.
The investigation into Mitchell's death is still ongoing, the Morton County Sheriffs Department says it is waiting for results from the state crime lab.
