Williston Hospital Gets Donation

Posted: Updated:

A major donation was made this morning to Mercy Medical Center in Williston by a now prominent employer in western North Dakota.

This morning Halliburton presented Mercy Medical Center of Williston a check for 25 thousand dollars.
It was money raised at a Halliburton Charity Golf Tournament that took place in late 2011 in Houston Texas.
Mercy Medical CEO Matt Grimshaw said today the money is ear marked for two orthopedic drills which will be used for surgical procedures in the operating room.
Grimshaw says the demand on the Medical Center has been increasing dramatically in recent years and partnerships with energy companies like Halliburton are key to keeping up with the medical needs.

(Matt Grimshaw - Mercy Medical Center CEO - Williston)  "We are currently in the midst of a 30 million dollar facility expansion and we can't do it all alone.  We've identified that early on, we had to reach out and Halliburton has been a good partner.
(Brent Eslinger, Halliburton's Senior District Manager) "I think for the Williston area it's very key.  There's a lot of stuff going on.  We need good facilities to help out people and our employees in the community. So it's great they're expanding."
