Folks working hard on their flooded homes got a little surprise from the Red Cross today. For the first time since last summer,
the Red Cross truck made its rounds in neighborhoods throughout Minot providing sandwiches, chips and water to anyone working on flooded homes. Through the help of the Minot Area Community Foundation and working closely with Marketplace Foods, the Red Cross truck dispersed 200 sandwiches to the community today. As it did last summer, the truck will continue to supply items such as work gloves, bug spray and sunscreen. But this isn't just a one day event. The truck will continue to make rounds throughout town for the rest of the summer running from 8 am to 7 PM Friday through Sunday.
(Allan McGeough, Executive Director, American Red Cross) "We are going to see how it goes through the summer and if we feel that there is more of a need, we will add more shifts throughout the week. Right now we are just going to run the weekends because we know that is when people work on their homes."
If you would like to request a visit to your neighborhood you may call the Red Cross at 852-2828.
