Concerns rise amongst families over the growing costs of attending college.
Democratic candidates held a roundtable discussion in Minot today to discuss the impact of college loan debts.

U.S. Senate Candidate, Heidi Heitkamp, and U.S. House of Representatives Candidate ,Pam Gulleson, visited the Minot State University campus to address concerns over the rising costs of college.
MSU financial aid experts and representatives from the university administration were also available to take part in the roundtable and address the growing issues.
Parents, students, and educators were invited to engage in a discussion with the candidates and ask questions concerning student debt, loans, and the overall growing cost of higher education.
The candidates proposed their ideas for legislation and policies to help students and families afford college.
Congress is set to discuss the matter within the next five days.
Heitkamp says the impact of rising education costs affects more than just college students.

(Heidi Heitkamp, U.S. Senate Candidate)"When we price higher education so high that students can't afford it, we don't do them any favors and we don't do our economy any favors."

Interest rates on federal student loans could potentially double by July.
