CDBG Plan to Get Public Hearing

The city of Minot is nearly ready to release details on how it plans to spend 67-and-a-half million dollars in federal funds designed for flood recovery.
The city's plan for spending Community Development Block Grant funds will be released Tuesday.
And on Thursday night, you'll have a chance to give your input on the ideas contained in the plan.
CDBG funds have been used in other major disasters to help local governments make needed repairs - and as direct grants for homeowners who suffered uninsured losses.
For example, following Hurricane Katrina, CDBG funds were used to establish a grant program where Louisiana residents could qualify for up to 150-thousand dollars in direct grant money for rebuilding.
The public hearing on Minot's plans for the CDBG funds in Thursday night from 6:30 to 8 at city hall.
