Apartment Fire in Mandan

Some Mandan residents are evacuated from their homes -- when one apartment burns...

The Mandan Fire Department is called to an apartment fire this afternoon at 2900 Edgewood Loop South East.
The blaze on the East side of the top floor in an Eight unit apartment caved the roof and caused severe damage to the building.
Fire fighters worked to get the smoldering embers contained as neighbors watched.
It's not clear what caused the flames-- The residents were evacuated for the evening.
The Red Cross is supplying food--clothing and shelter to those residents if needed.

Officials say some areas on the road near Jamestown were 10 to 14 inches deep. It may be hard to tell but this is actually interstate. Drivers were down to about five miles an hour just west of Jamestown
Two westbound semi trailers were swept off the road and had to be pulled out early Sunday, and some eastbound vehicles were stranded until the water receded enough to let them proceed.
