Preparations for the Pierce County Fair are well underway.

Thursday marks the beginning of the five-day event in Rugby at the fairgrounds.
The fair kicks off tomorrow with stock car racing in the evening.
A few of the activities for this week include inflatables and rides, a petting zoo, a 5K Run, an enduro race, and the fair's first-annual poetry contest.
Gwen Sebastian from the music show The Voice will perform on Friday and Saturday.
Other musical acts include Shania Two and U3 + 1.
Pierce County Fair member Breann Lenzmeier says this year's goal is offer a wide variety of activities that everyone can enjoy.

(Breann Lenzmeier, Pierce County Fair.)"The main thing we're looking forward to is everyone coming out and enjoying the Pierce County Fair this year. Our theme for this year is fair fun for everyone, so we're hoping to have things for everyone of all ages."

The fair runs from Thursday through Sunday and fair activities reconvene on July 4th with a parade and fireworks.
