Pamida stores in the upper midwest will be getting a new name -- and that includes the six in North Dakota and the three in our area -- like here at Rugby.  Shopko has purchased the Pamida brand and is bringing it to the state.  80 million dollars is being spent to bring the new brand to the 350 locations across the northern part of the country.  Shopko is based in Green Bay, Wisconsin and the move is set to bring another 120 jobs to that state on the rebound.

A new, very unique business has started up in the Minot area...This is Forget Me Not Pet Crematorium -- a place to take your beloved pet that has passed on.  The decision to cremate a pet is one that has gained in popularity over the last few years according to Tiffany Long, one of four who have opened this crematorium in the old Ernie's Concrete office building on east Burdick Expressway.  

(Tiffany Long) "But there is just such a need for it and it seems like this is where people are going with their pets, they want to take them with them.  Military people, stuff...they don't want to leave a pet behind."

The process takes about a day or two...and Long says while they are based in Minot...their reach is quite vast...

(Tiffany Long) "We will do surrounding, like today we have drop offs in New Town, Rugby, Bottineau...over to Powers Lake.  We don't really have any boundaries."
