CVB Offers Grants

Posted: Updated:

Minot's Convention and Visitors Bureau hopes to promote tourism with a new grant program.

The Marketing Matched Grant Program will provide funds to organizations or businesses that are involved in attracting tourists or visitors to Minot.
Businesses seeking a grant must be within a 30-mile radius of Minot and they must have a plan to attract outside visitors to Minot.
The CVB will then partner with the chosen businesses and provide a matching grant of up to $5,000.
Executive Director of the CVB, Wendy Howe, says some potential visitors may be concerned about finding a place to stay in Minot.

(Wendy Howe, CVB Executive Director)"The perception might be that there aren't' any hotel rooms in Minot or the area and so that's one of the messages that we've tried to get out is there are hotel rooms available and specifically weekend hotel rooms, so for leisure travelers that works really well."

The maximum grant that can be awarded to a single business is $5,000.  The CVB has $75,000 to disperse through the grant program.
