Many came out to the Mandan Independence Day Parade to see the more than 100 floats, but others came out to see an attempt at setting another world record.
Hundreds were in line dancing to the Y-M-C-A song this morning on Main Street in Mandan.
Last year a world record was set for the largest twist and the year before a world record was set for the longest chicken dance.
The Chicken Dance spread for more than a mile and a half two years ago.
Y.M.C.A. was recorded by the Village People in 1978 and reached number two on the U.S. charts in 1979.
Officials are working to verify if a world record for the longest Y-M-C-A dance.
