One of the highlights of Mandan Rodeo Days is the annual Independence Day Parade.
There were around 140 entrants in this years parade, which dates back to before statehood.
Known as one of the largest parade's in the region, the 4th of July Parade draws thousands of spectators to Main Street in Mandan each year.
Parade Co-Chair Marlo Anderson, says there were 5,000 people who walked the parade route alone.
One of the highlights of the parade? Candy. Kids line the streets to pick up suckers and tootsie rolls.
Anderson says people come from all over the country and world for the parade. He said he met a woman from England who traveled here to take in the festivities.
He says the largest parade took place in 1989, when North Dakota celebrated its centennial.
