Hope Village Goals

Posted: Updated:

Hope Village charges on through the summer in Minot, with thousands of volunteers passing through helping the thousands who need help trying to recover from the Mouse River flood.

The faith-based response to the flood has been massive...and while those who benefit from the help come out in a better place...the hope is that those who are volunteering do as well.
Steve Carbno is the new Hope Village coordinator.
He makes sure the volunteers have what they need during their stay in Minot -- however long it may be.

(Steve Carbno - Hope Village Coordinator) "We never lose sight of the fact that this is a ministry and we do devotions at night and give people a chance to share stories both good and bad about what they have experienced.  Our hope is that when these people go back home after the time with us they realize that they have been a part of something bigger than them.  The people of Minot need some loving and they are doing that for us."

Hope Village is hosting an open house this Wednesday evening --  a chance to see what happens there...and how it is helping people recover.
You'll find Hope Village at Our Savior Lutheran Church in south Minot and the open house runs from five until seven in the evening.
