Two children are dead after a one vehicle-pedestrian crash near Lake Metigoshe this morning.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol responded to the crash at 1:10 am in the Hahns Bay campground.
Captain Alan Billehus says Juan Acosta of Newburg was driving too fast for the conditions and lost control while turning a curve in the campground.
The Ford F-250 Super Crew then traveled into a camp site, drove over a tent and crashed into a tree.
Of the four occupants in the tent, a nine year old boy and a five year old boy were pronounced dead at St. Andrews Hospital in Bottineau.
The adult male in the tent, 28-year-old Juan Ruiz of El Paso, Texas, sustained serious injuries and was air lifted to Trinity Hospital in Minot.
The third juvenile, a nine year old male, sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. Andrews Hospital in Bottineau.
The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and the two passengers in the vehicle were unharmed.
The crash is still under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
