Minot Passes the Water Test

Posted: Updated:

Minot's Water Treatment Plant receives good news in it's latest water quality report.

Every year, the plant publishes a report of the previous year's drinking water quality.
The latest water quality report for 2011 was released in late June and showed little to no change in Minot's drinking water during the flood.
Concerns surfaced after the plant had to temporarily switch from groundwater to surface water treatment guidelines due to flooding.
Treatment plant foreman Rodney Arness says the plant is pleased with the results.

(Rodney Arness, Water Treatment Plant Foreman) "We were vigilant in following the rules and regulations at the time for the safety of our consumers of our total area we serve.  So, we were confident that we were still putting out a good product and it turned out to be that yes we were."

The plant is currently upgrading its filtration system and plans to have it completed in late 2012.
