Business Beat - July 12

Weight loss, weight gain, staying where you are at but healthier -- those are the goals of Complete Nutrition.  You'll find this franchise store in south Minot just north of Buffalo Wild Wings.  The store shelves are packed full of different supplements to help you reach your goal...and Carson Stratman with Complete Nutrition says you'll find a bit of a different approach when you visit here...

(Carson Stratman - Complete Nutrition Franchise Owner) "What we do is when a customer comes in they are going to get product information from us, but they are also going to get a consultation and we will follow up with them."

This is Stratman's third Complete Nutrition store.  The company is based in his hometown of Omaha...so, why did he come to Minot?  He said the local business climate had everything to do with it.

(Carson Stratman - Complete Nutrition Franchise Owner) "You read about the economy up here in ND doing well with the oil boom so that played a role...the unemployment rate is so low and the economy is thriving which is so rare in the US at this time."

Complete Nutrition has about 150 stores across the upper Midwest.

This week ground was broken on a massive new business and residential complex on North Hill.  North Hill Center broke ground yesterday.  It will consist of another MarketPlace Foods as well as a First Western Bank location, Trinity facility...and many others still to be named.  Apartment units will soon become available as well.

Finally -- another business center is planned just south of the new Hampton Inn -- This is the draw out for Broadway Plaza as it is being called.  Developers say plans are in the works now for a 126 room hotel along with other retail stores and possibly restaurants.  No timeline yet for that work as contracts have yet to be signed...
