Hotel Availability During the NDSF

Posted: Updated:

The North Dakota State Fair is only one week away --- and there's good news for those who have not yet reserved rooms for the event.
Minot Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Wendy Howe says there ARE rooms available in the Minot area for every day of the fair.

Howe says that many hotels have extended stay agreements with workers and companies.
Most of those agreements had clauses reserving the hotels during high traffic weeks like the state fair and Hostfest.
Rates are determined by each hotel individually but Howe says hotels have been fair considering the multitude of new amenities the number of new hotels have to offer in the area.
The Minot CVB is surfing local hotels daily and posting availability information on their website: www.visitminot.org.

(Wendy Howe, Minot Convention Visitors Bureau) "We're excited every year but this year being extra special because of the fair not happening last year because of the flood, we're receiving a ton of calls from our Canadian friends and folks all across the state saying they're looking forward to the fair. They're looking forward to mini donuts and corndogs and entertainment so I think we're going to see a very successful North Dakota State Fair."

Of course the North Dakota State Fair kicks off on Friday night with the Kid Rock concert and the state fair parade is Saturday morning at 9:15 starting at the corner of Burdick and Broadway.
