Violence Center Groundbreaking

Posted: Updated:

400-thousand-dollars is the amount the Minot Domestic Violence Crisis Center received today at a groundbreaking ceremony to go towards new facilities.

The Center purchased 3.6 acres of land directly east of the old Jefferson School that will condense all of the facilities onto one campus that will be known as the Campus of Hope.
Facilities include the main office, safe home and two transitional living units.
Strict security measures will be followed along with a strong partnership with the Minot Police Department that will ensure the safety of the campus.
The Bremer Otto Foundation granted the center with the 400-thousand dollars which made this project possible.

(Kausha Bakk, Board Member, Domestic Violence Crisis Center) "They came to us. They got us there with this money and that really gave us the gateway and the belief that we are going to do this. Let's break ground. We can do this. Bremer believes in us. The community needs us. It's time."
