Heat Takes A Toll On Vehicles

This hot weather may be taking a toll on you, and it's also taking a big toll on your vehicle.

Many cars are cooling off, in an air conditioned repair shop.

Tires Plus in Bismarck is seeing double the business than they typically see in the summer.

The most frequent problems blamed on the heat are overheating, battery problems and problems with the radiator and cooling system.

"We're back about a week, you know in emergency cases we'll put people in, we've got extra staff on hand to try and make sure to help out to take care of the people and most of the travelers that come through," Tires Plus Store Manager Jeff Spady said.

Spady says there's a lot of overtime being given to employees to keep up with the business.

He also says that the heat actually takes more of a toll on your vehicle's battery than the cold weather does.
