Flag Honors Citizenship, 39 Years Later

Posted: Updated:

Watching as an American Flag is dedicated in your honor is an unforgettable moment.
One U.S citizen of 39 years has this memory to cherish for the rest of his life.

Applebee's manager, Sid Gousheh traveled to America from Iran in 1964 and became a U.S citizen in 1973 .
Family and friends gathered at the restaurant earlier today to witness the flag dedication ceremony.
The flag dedicated during today's ceremony, is the same flag that flew over Washington D.C. on June 1st, which marked the 39th anniversary of Gousheh's citizenship.
This is the second time a flag has been dedicated in honor of Gousheh's many years of patriotism.
Gousheh says the dedication ceremony has brought on whole new meaning of the American flag.

(Sid Gousheh, Applebee's Manager)"I am absolutely thrilled.  The flag means a piece of my freedom, really.  It means I'm free with the flag that I have.  I'm proud of that flag."
