A scary situation for a driver crossing the interstate bridge between Bismarck and Mandan.
Highway patrol trooper Derek Arndt was the first on the scene, he says the driver noticed a fire coming from his pickup bed, not his engine, and was forced to pull over.
The driver is moving back to Michigan and says most of his belongings were burnt in the fire possibly from an exhaust pipe.
He did suffer some minor burns trying to save some of his things, but says he plans to hit the road again as soon as possible.
