A new grant has been established to offer financial assistance to communities that have been impacted by the oil activity in Western North Dakota.
Farm Credit Services of North Dakota along with Farm Credit Services of Mandan and Agribank have joined efforts to establish the Rural Community Grand Fund for Western North Dakota.
Grants will be considered for any organization within a community that has been affected by the oil.
Types of projects and programs applicable for funds may include but are not limited to medical and emergency facilities, educational programs, recreational facilities, and environmental programs.
An organization or program can apply for up to a 50,000 dollar grant.
Nearly 500-hundred thousand dollars has been set aside for grants awarded this year.
