If you're planning on staying in Bismarck through retirement, it might not be a bad idea.
It turns out that Bismarck is the third best city for successful aging.
Today the Milken Institute released the results of a brand new study.
The study looked at 259 smaller metro areas across the country and examined 78 factors, including healthcare, crime rate, weather, housing and transportation.
"Two where Bismarck scored particularly high were in the availability of affordable quality health care and in social and civic engagement and I think that's a testament to our citizens generally and people in Bismarck imparticular, they rank very high in the amount of volunteerism," Janis Cheney with AARP said.
Coming in at number one for the best city for successful aging is Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Iowa City, Iowa comes in at number two.
