Hope Village Update

Posted: Updated:

Flood rebuilding efforts are still going strong throughout the Valley.
And Hope Village continues to bring in more workers to finish work on damaged houses.

Jobs such as demolishing, pressure washing, and sanitizing are nearing an end--now Hope Village is moving towards bringing in workers to complete the next phase of jobs which includes installing windows and putting up sheet rock in damaged homes.
Hope Village has 166 beds available and is expecting over 150 workers on site during the second and third weeks of August.
Workers travel from all over the U.S to lend a hand--this August Hope Village will see workers from as far away as California and Florida traveling to the Magic City.
Hope Village Coordinator, Steve Carbno says one main objective is to keep working throughout the fall and winter months.

(Steve Carbno, Hope Village Coordinator)"It's our goal to make sure that people don't lose sight of the fact that it's still a disaster here.  We still have people that need the help to rebuild."

Although Hope Village will continue to work later in the year, the Hope Village facilities will be closed.
