Today is the kickoff to the Morton County Fair.
This is the 52nd annual year for the fair.
Thursday is 4-H day.
More than 260 4-Her's are competing in numerous different events.
From horse showing to baking to photography and art...4-Her's say this week is a chance for them to showcase what they have worked all year for.
(Florence Mayer / 13 years old) "I was just interviewing on my apple pie, which was passed down from great grandmother, to my grandmother to my mom to me. It's connecting the generations. 4-H is a great way to show that off and to show that you can do it and finding new skills."
(Lane Tokach / 13 years old) "You show them how your horse can perform and how good of a showman you are out in the ring and how you can do the pattern correctly. Like everyone says, it's easier said than done."
The fair continues in New Salem through Sunday.
