Church Anniversaries

Church Anniversaries

Posted: Updated:

Two churches have a lot to look forward to this weekend as they both celebrate their many years of worship services in the Magic City.
Kelli Volk visited both churches to get the details on the upcoming celebrations.

First Church of the Nazarene and Vincent United Methodist Church both have something to celebrate this Saturday and Sunday.
(Rev. Francis Warren, First Church of the Nazarene)"This weekend's a very special time for us.  Our church is celebrating a hundred year anniversary.
(Linda Wade, Vincent United Methodist Church)"We're very excited here because it's our 125th anniversary at Vincent Methodist Church."
Both churches have seen many changes take place throughout the years, and some things have remained very similar to earlier times.
(Linda Wade, Vincent United Methodist Church)"We're adapting to some of the newer technologies and we've improved communications, but our zeal for telling the story of Christ has never changed over the years."
(Rev. Francis Warren, First Church of the Nazarene)"A lot of things have changed, but a lot of things are still the same.  We still have people who have gone to this church for over 50 years."
Not only do the upcoming celebrations recognize the tradition of Sunday Service...but they also represent many years of bringing the Minot community together.
(Linda Wade, Vincent United Methodist Church)"I think not only do people need a place to worship God, but they also need to find that sense of community that find within a church."
Any celebration recognizing 100 years or more of unity is a celebration well-deserved.
(Rev. Francis Warren, First Church of the Nazarene)"Those people that have been here for a long time are the ones that help make this church what it is.  Churches don't last 100 years.  That's a long life span for a church, so we're so thankful for th people that have made that happen over the years and the new ones that are becoming a part of it."

Both celebrations kicked off today and will continue tomorrow.
For information on either of the events you can contact the church offices for more details.
