A 59-year-old Ashley man is dead following a rear end collision on I-94 this morning near Richardton.
The Highway Patrol says the man changed lanes to avoid a stalled motorist. When he switched back, he slowed down driving into the path of a semi.
The report says a 65-year-old Glen Ullin woman was driving a semi full of corn. She applied her brakes but could not avoid striking the vehicle. Both spun into the north ditch and rolled.
The woman was taken to St. Joseph's hospital in Dickinson for treatment.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The accident happened about 9:15am 3 miles east or Richardton.
His name is being withheld until relatives are notified.
