In his freshman season at UND, running back Jake Miller was one of just two freshman to see action.
In his sophomore campaign he followed up as the starting back in 8 games.
Miller who used to play for Bismarck High has become a huge player for UND, he was their offensive player of the year last year, he was first team all conference, and was the first player ever to receive Great West Player of the Week honors, three straight weeks.
Miller is the leader of a group of running backs, who Millers says has a strong mentality who knows what their job is.
To work, and work hard.
Jake Miller/ UND Running Back "like out experience we didn't lose many guys from offense last year and this year we're coming in everyone knows the scheme everyone knows what's going on and that's the big thing I focused in on this fall and noticing in on how much more experienced than we were last year "
UND's experience will be needed in their new conference.
Miller says the team has been expecting the transition to be great, so they've been putting in the work.
But he also says the team won't go changing things that have already made them successful
Jake Miller-UND Running Back "playing great competition in Big Sky great football teams well coach game in game out you can't take anyone lightly starting with our first game School of Mines working our way to Portland State every game you've got to go in with the same mentality focusing in on what you have to do to get a win every week"
Miller ran for 972 yards last year, he'll make a stab for 1 thousand starting Thursday August 30th at home.
