The workforce housing in Stanley got a major boost today with the opening of a newly remodeled and expanded hotel.
Officials with Target Logistics along with others from the community cut the ribbon for the Stanley Hotel which now includes 246 rooms and can accommodate about 350 people.
The hotel will not only offer the accommodations to executives, management and craft workers but to visitors to the region and employs 25 people.
The Stanley hotel has all the amenities of a full service hotel including a restaurant that serves three meals a day, a game and recreation room, gym, free self-service laundry and parking, security and controlled entry access cards.
This is the first line of extended-stay hotels from Target Logistics in Stanley and company CEO Brian Lash says plans are already moving forward on other large projects in Minot and Williston.
(Brian Lash, CEO Target Logistics) "We've received our final permit to built our Target Suites in Minot. It's on Highway 2 just east of downtown. That will feature 200, 1 bedroom suits, a bedroom and a living room with a full bathroom and a small kitchen. We also have opened our first 112 rooms that are very similar to these in Williston. We have a permit to go to as many as a thousand rooms in Williston, we have another 170 coming online in September
At the Ribbon Cutting Target Logistics presented the Mountrail County Sheriff's Department and Stanley Police Department each with checks for 25-hundred dollars for use with equipment upgrades.
