Marketplace Foods on North Hill

Posted: Updated:

Progress is being made on North Hill making way for the newest Marketplace Foods in Minot.
Ground work is nearing completion and the first footings will be placed this week, making way for the first pre-fabricated wall that will be delivered on August 27th.

Contractors have removed the trees from the former hay field on 16th Street and 21st Avenue Northwest.
The ground is level, gas lines have been moved, sewer lines are in, and water lines are currently being placed.
Residents in the area will soon start to see the building itself take shape.
In the meantime, there are a number of thing happening behind the scenes that will make next year's grand opening run smoothly.

(Ralph Towery, Director Marketplace Foods) "We've been working with our local distributors and working with a lot of our DST vendors, setting up new accounts and getting everything done. Everything is going smooth."

(Ralph Towery, Director Marketplace Foods) "We're going to start hiring staff within the next couple of months because we want to get them on board and get them trained. Staffing is an issue. But it's something we're addressing and hopefully can have rectified before."

The grocery store portion of the building is expected to be open by the summer of 2013.
