Verizon goes 4G

Posted: Updated:

Verizon customers woke up to a new look on their phone this morning.

Today Verizon Wireless turned on the 4G Network in the Bismarck, Minot and Grand Forks areas.
Verizon Wireless Manager Nicole Fleck says customers with 4G capable phones will see data usage speeds up to 10 times faster than when using the 3G network.
She says people in the area have been waiting a long time for the move to 4G.

(Nicole Fleck / Verizon Wireless) "Oh years, ever since we have started selling the first 4G phones. We have been selling the first 4G phones for over a year now, so everybody is pretty excited about it."

The 4G network in the Bismarck area includes north to Wilton, south of Highway 1804 for 12 miles, Sterling and west to Glen Ullin.
