Only weeks remain for the House to pass a 2012 Farm Bill.
Kent Conrad says it's extremely disappointing the House hasn't acted on passing a 2012 Farm Bill. Conrad says agriculture is a huge part of the economy and their failure to act puts the economy at risk. He says permanent farm legislation is needed and it's stunning the House hasn't acted when we are only days away from parts of the current bill expiring.
(Senator Kent Conrad / ND (D)) "All indications are they are not going to move, they are not going to act. That they are so divided Republicans in the House of Representatives among themselves that they can't act. That's kinda a sad note."
The current farm bill expires September 30, 2012.
