DAV Offers Benefit Information

Posted: Updated:

They served our country...and made sacrifices many other Americans have not.

Now, veterans who served in the military need to be taken care of...

Veterans all across the region have a chance this week to make sure

they are getting the help they earned while serving this country.

The Disabled American Veterans bus was in Minot today -- a chance to visit and make sure all the benefits they can tap into are getting to them.

John Baxley works with the Disabled American Veterans Mobile Service Office.

He was in Minot helping direct vets so they don't fall through paperwork cracks and don't get the services they should be getting...

(John Baxley - Disabled American Veterans) "A lot of veterans when we put in our claims, if we don't have someone to help us we do what we think is right and many times we cause problems in the long run and we just need someone to sit down and clean up the paper work so the process goes smoothly."

The bus moves to Washburn tomorrow -- from eight in the morning until four in the afternoon at the McLean County Courthouse.
