First Day Means First Assignments

Posted: Updated:

One Seventh Grade Geography teacher in Dickinson has an assignment for his students -- to learn where they're from and where they've been.

Scott Obrigewitch has been teaching for thirteen years and traveled all over the world.
He says that with more and more kids coming from out of state--he wants to know more about where they came from.
The assignment for his students on the first day this year is for them to color states where they have lived--states they have visited-- and then pin a city they've been too that is furthest from Dickinson.

Scott Obrigewitch "With the influx of students from various locations around the United States and actually I found out last year that we'll see students from over seas. It's really neat to have them share their experiences of where they've been plus it gives me an idea of students that have been in Dickinson their entire life and they came through the education system here versus maybe they came from Texas or out east."
The students will put their pins on the map tomorrow during class.

We all know it's hot outside--but one herd bull decides to take a dip in the pool. This bull got out and fell into the neighbors pool about 24 miles west of Linton. The owners say they walked him over
