Bismarck police report a workplace fatality in the central part of town.
According to a Bismarck police department press release, around 1:15 Sunday afternoon responders were called to a jobsite in Bismarck where a 36-year-old Minnesota man had been struck by the bucket of a backhoe.
The worker was in a trench, installing pipe, and was struck by the bucket.
He was transported to Sanford Health where he was pronounced dead.
Sanford authorities are contacting the victim's family and the report is being forwarded to OSHA.
