Authorities have released the name of a construction worker killed over the weekend.
The victim is 36-year-old Lucas Voker, Minnesota man working for S and J Louis, a general construction contractor based out of Rockville Minnesota.
He was working on Bismarck's new $16 million water intake project when the incident happened Sunday afternoon.
Around 1:15 Sunday afternoon police and fire responders were called to this job site in Bismarck where a 36-year-old Minnesota man had been struck by the bucket of a backhoe.
The worker was in a trench installing pipe and was struck by the bucket.
He was transported to Sanford Health and was pronounced dead.
Sanford Authorities are contacting the victim's family.
A neighbor along the construction site would only say off-camera that this was very sad because they have gotten to know the construction workers this summer.
OSHA representatives are on site, they can not comment on the incident because it is still an open investigation.
